Acanthus foliations

The capital shows two clearly demarcated registers with acanthus foliations. The one difference from W03MS59 consists in the fact that here are two small volutes below the console block. The impost frieze is decorated with a double row of palms; the palm leaves are spread widely like a fan.
This motif derives from Saint-Sernin in Toulouse, where it can be seen on the capitals of the transepts; it was later trasferred to the impost block of the West Portal. In Moissac this motif is also found on capital W09MS65 as well as on the impost blocks of E11MS29 and N13MS51.
