Corinthian capital
Capitals with similar corinthianizing ornament recur several times in the cloister (W09FL18, W05FL14, W01FL10 and N01FL01), yet in detail they differ from each other.
The south-west corner pillar consists of several columns bundled together. On two sides (west and south) they are each topped by a triple-capital. The two other sides facing the garden are topped instead with a double-capital.
Stylized acanthus leaves, alternately small and large, spring from the annulet. The central rib of the larger leaves is decorated with elegant beading. Further pairs of leaves are arranged above them. Helices or volutes curl upwards from their pointed tips; they are three-dimensionally conceived in the way they curl forwards, and so form a contrast with the flat relief of the acanthus leaves. The edges of the leaves are also decorated with beading.
The impost is decorated with a leaf tendril springing from a wave-shaped stalk, from which a double palmette symmetrically springs on both sides.
