Prophets Amos, Obadja, Hosea, Joel
As one of a total of five capitals of Old Testament prophets on the south flank of the cloister this capital follows a common organizational scheme:
On all four capital sides a clipeus is placed before the calathus. The roundels contain a haloed figure, which emphasizes itself frontally as a relief bust. On the surrounding circular frame the names of the prophets are inscribed. The scroll, which each of the prophets holds in his hand, along with the lower part of the roundel bears a prominent part of the verses from their respective books.
North side:
AMMOS: DNS DE SYON RUGIET
The Lord roars from Zion (Am 1,2)
West side:
ABDIAS: P(ER)DA(M) SAPIENTES DE IDUMEA
Will I not destroy the wise men of Edom (Ob 1,8)
South side:
OSEE: ET ERIT QUASI OLYUA GL(ORI)A EIUS
His splendor will be like an olive tree (Hos 14,7)
East side:
